See what I mean.
Btw, it is really hard to take a picture of the back of one's own head. Anyway, I don't know what to do with it. I'm a little overwhelmed by how crazy it's gotten. In the old days, when it was all one length and there were no layers, it didn't get this messy when I went without haircuts. Now, I look at it and I am horrified.
Am I completely unhinged? Will taming this mess really make me feel better?

It will make you feel better. An added bonus is that someone will be washing your hair. That alone is worth it!
A new haircut always make me feel refreshed and new. I say go for it!
Look good feel good, or feel good look good. Yup. Do it. Cut them hairs. Plus, like SS said, having somebody rub on your skull is *so* relaxing. Great destresser. That alone is worth it!
Not completely unhinged. Do it. Hair stuff always works as a "make-me-feel-better," especially when hair's all grown out and goofy.
Indeed, this past weekend at a conference, I BURNT OFF HALF OFF MY BANGS, and yet, I felt OK about it because it increased the necessity to get my hair cut already. (You know you need a trim when you can burn off your bangs and still look relatively OK...)
"Of" not "off."
BTW, you have lovely hairs. No greys! So shiney! (I am beset by greys that remind me overmuch of my mother's hair.)
